Sheikh Hilal

Sheikh Hilal is the first project of eco-tourism and responsible tourism in Syria. The village where most homes are in sugarloaf, received a grant from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) of the Swiss Confederation in 2007 for the restoration of domes (rooms) to accommodate tourists .

6 families have participated in this project, each offering two domes and a bathroom with a toilet, a shower, a sink and a water heater. Meals (breakfast and dinner) are prepared and served by the foster family.
Located near the Byzantine site of Ethriyeh on the road from Hama- Salamiyeh to Ressafa and Raqqa, the village offers clean accommodation and meals.
