Isriya is located on the crossroads of many Roman roads in an area which was much more fertile than today. You can admire the remains of Isriya Roman temple, which dates back to the 3rd century. The temple's four intact walls of mellowed limestone are isolated in a moonscape of scattered and fragmentary stones. The wide E doorway is richly decorated with a typically Syrian semicircular relieving arch above. A staircase embedded in the masonry to the right of the doorway ascends to the former level of the terrace. There is little trace of the temenos wall that once must have surrounded the temple.
