The church is one of the most celebrated ecclesiastical mounuments in Syria, and it comprises the only ancient remains surviving in this mountain hamlet and it's not difficult to find it as the road winds its way through the dwelling, also the three storeyed towers to all the sides. Except for a few olive trees, the village consisted of little but the church, there being no sizable patches of arable land on limestone ridge.
